From the server room to the lab, my style is to run around the office, constantly searching for the perfect balance between hardware and software.
My first task of the day is to dive into the sea of logs and check the health of the local 5G system. After that, I shifted to a very “field-oriented” task. Using shielded boxes, I repeatedly simulate wireless signals in a safe
environment that doesn’t affect the external network.
The logical work of building scripts on the screen and the practical work of tinkering with physical equipment —— this back-and-forth is incredibly interesting. The ability to see the whole system and the intense focus on the details of the logs—when all of this culminates in a device recording an overwhelming communication speed of 1Gbps, I feel a surge of excitement, thinking, “This is exactly what I wanted to do.”

Daily Schedule

Collaborating Across Borders

My typical workday runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Each morning, I review pending tasks from the previous day, organize priorities, and begin my work accordingly. In the afternoon, our team holds a short synchronization meeting to share progress and align on challenges. I also participate in regular meetings with our L5G partner team in India and collaborate with experts in Taiwan and Poland to exchange information and resolve technical issues.
My main responsibilities include system evaluation using the L5G stack (O-RAN CU, DU, L1, and UE) as well as integration with various Radio Units and user equipment. Through continuous testing and optimization for upcoming PoCs, I contribute to strengthening Hytec Inter’s technical capabilities.

Job satisfaction

Turning Challenges into Results

Working on projects such as the racetrack PoC has been especially rewarding. Seeing a project move from validation toward potential commercial implementation gives me a strong sense of achievement. Even when complex tasks arise, such as implementing a high-bandwidth handover, I find it rewarding to break problems down and solve them step by step. When the system operates stably after repeated trial and error, I feel that my efforts have led to meaningful results and contributed to the company’s growth.

How to Refresh Yourself

Balance Fuels Performance

During work, I reset my focus with short stretching or brief walks. On weekends, I run 3-4 kilometers and enjoy cooking Khmer food with friends to refresh both mentally and physically.
Maintaining this balance between work and personal time helps me stay positive and perform consistently in my daily work.

My Dreams and Career Plan

Technology for Everyone

My dream is to design my own product and commercialize for cheap yet accessible even by the underprivileged people around the world. It can be as simple as a mini-PC or a virtual desktop environment for the classroom. Giving a helping hand to those in need. In 2-3 years, I want to be a certified 5G operators with develop bilingual skills and of course one of them is Japanese. In 5 years, I hope I can be a useful AI+5G related system designer.

Job Description Bridging Hardware and Software I rarely sit still at my desk.
